Fred Jones is the Founder of the Southern Heritage Classic, the annual cultural event that centers around the Jackson State and Tennessee State University football game, entertainment and community to the city of Memphis. Jones talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about the historic events happening in the city over the weekend.
“We’re expecting 60,000 people and 10,000 of that is tailgating. The economic impact is $21M. I wanted to create something like a Super Bowl,’ Jones said.”The one thing that everyone wanted was Jackson State and Tennessee State in Memphis. It took a little time, but we’ve got it.”
The game will air on FOX Sports Southeast on Saturday, September 10th.
