Lifetime has released a teaser for its upcoming Michel’le biopic “Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Me.”
Due in October, “Surviving Compton” will feature “Lincoln Heights” star Rhyon Nicole Brown as the Los Angeles-born singer as she navigates through the volatile days of N.W.A’s rise after being signed to Eazy E’s Ruthless Records, becoming Dr. Dre’s girlfriend and forming romantic ties to Suge Knight.
The promo clip has Michel’le ripping a “Parental Advisory” sticker off her lips with a message that reads, “Behind the men who changed hip-hop is the woman who knows the truth.”
The film, made in partnership with Sony Pictures Television and Thinkfactory Media, will co-star Curtis Hamilton as Dre, “Scream” actor Jamie Kennedy as Jerry Heller, and R. Marcos Taylor reprising his role as Suge Knight after playing the hip-hop mogul in “Straight Outta Compton.”
