Lamar Odom’s children, Destiny and Lamar Jr., are reportedly concerned about their father in the wake of recent reports detailing his return to alcohol and drugs.

“They are so upset,” a family source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

Back in his native NYC, Odom “says he is not going back to Los Angeles,” adds the insider. “He wants to rebuild his life in New York — but that’s not really happening.”

As previously reported, the former NBA star, 36, was booted from a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to NYC July 11 for being drunk and vomiting. A source told Us at the time that he stopped at a bar in Santa Monica prior to heading to LAX, where he “got really angry and started getting drunk.”

Once he arrived in New York, he would disappear for days, hitting strip clubs, smoking weed and drinking heavily, says a source.

Destiny, 17, and Lamar Jr., 15, along with his first wife, Liza Morales, and aunt JaNean Mercer were so worried that they planned a July 22 intervention with addiction specialist Ron Dock, hoping to shuttle Odom to the Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center in Florida. (Odom first entered rehab in January after a near-fatal October overdose at a Nevada brothel.) But a childhood friend tipped him off — and Odom fled his Manhattan hotel.

“The kids really wanted the intervention to happen,” adds the insider. “Everyone wants Lamar to get help.”

No one more than estranged wife Khloé Kardashian who, in a tough-love move, canceled the lease on his Calabasas, California, home in June. “She will never stop fighting for Lamar,” explains a source close to Kardashian, 32, who filed for divorce for the second time on May 26 after putting a hold on her original filing to help Odom with his recovery. “But there’s only so much she can do.”
