Tamar Braxton recently let fans take a peek inside her fabulous home, and PEOPLE magazine was there to document it. The reality star and singer has an 8-bedroom, 11-bathroom Calabasas, Calif. estate that boasts a champagne bar.

“Champagne is every girl’s dream,” Braxton tells PEOPLE. “I just wanted to live out a fantasy. How many times do you get the chance to build a champagne bar?”

The dark wood bar — with animal-print bar stools — also includes a lounge area with a couch and a TV, and was inspired by The Dorchester hotel in London.

“What I loved about their bar is it felt like a living room, so I wanted to turn my bar into a living room slash bar, where it’s comfortable,” explains Braxton, who says her champagne bar was her “ultimate favorite” room to decorate. “It gives me that same old tavern, homey, comfy feel. But it feels expensive.”

The “icing on the cake” was a “Champagne” sign Braxton found at HomeGoods for $99.

“It was just the icing on the cake,” she says. “When I was shopping, I just looked for whatever fits. It’s not about the price, it’s not about where you get it, it’s just about what works for you.”

While her music mogul husband Vince was at first skeptical about having a champagne bar in their home, Braxton says he spends a lot of time there now.

“It’s his favorite room to go into,” she says. “He watches all of his games on that television. It’s just so inviting.”

Tamar added that she didn’t think she would actually use the room as much as she does.

“I thought it was just [going to be] for show,” she says. “But I think because we use our home so much, nothing is off-limits.”
