One of Wendell Pierce’s co-stars from HBO’s “The Wire” is voicing support for the actor against allegations he hit a female Bernie Sanders supporter after a conversation about politics got heated.
“He said it was complete and absolute bogus BS,” Chad Coleman — currently starring on the History Channel’s remake of “Roots” and played Dennis “Cutty” Wise on “The Wire” — told Page Six.
“We can all be politically fervent, but to go to that extent and accuse him to that extent is just wrong. He’s an amazing guy,” added the actor at a Lincoln Center premiere for “Roots.”
Hillary Clinton supporter Pierce, last seen as Justice Clarence Thomas in HBO’s “Confirmation,” posted a $1,000 bond after his May 14 arrest in Atlanta.
