Angela Bassett stars in London Has Fallen, the sequel to the highly charged Olympus Has Fallen, starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman.
She talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about her role in the film, supporting Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail and much more.
“The Prime Minister of London has unexpectedly taken ill and we’re bringing everyone together to one place, so that’s the perfect place for someone up to no-good to do no-good. So I go as the head of security,” she said.
On her support of Hillary Clinton:
“When they called, I met and was impressed by her. I went out a little bit and spoke up a little bit.”
On directing the Whitney Houston biopic:
“It meant so much to me that it came my way. It wasn’t something that I sought out. Some of the work that I’ve done with Coretta, Katherine Jackson and Tina and my love for her…they thought it’d be a good fit.”
