Rapper Foxy Brown is clearing up any misunderstanding over her choice for president, after the New York Daily News reported she was a fan of Donald Trump, and that her next single could be a tribute to the GOP frontrunner.

The report quoted Brown (born Inga Marchand) as saying of Trump: “No matter how many people sabotage his campaign, it keeps growing and growing and growing.” And, “I know so many people won’t agree with me and will try to change my mind, but I’m a smart girl. I’m excited…I haven’t been this excited in so long. I know people say he’s a racist, but that’s just crazy.”

The Daily News also quoted Brown as saying she would be doing “a lot” for Trump in the coming months.

The rapper, a lifelong Democrat, became a trending topic on Twitter after the report went online. She has since taken to Instagram to state that she is “in no way endorsing Trump” and that her words had been misconstrued. “What I said verbatim was Trump had tenacity, much like I said Hillary Clinton I love dearly and Bernie Sanders I absolutely adore.”

The media, Brown wrote, “per usual…sensationalizes everything.”

Brown also gave a shout out to Brooklyn Borough president Eric Adams, who earlier awarded the artist the “key to the city,” a “historic honor” in her words.
