“Love & Hip Hop” executive producer Mona Scott-Young is reportedly expanding the franchise to New Orleans, and TMZ reports that producers are also auditioning cast members in both Miami and Houston, as they’re hoping to get the cast locked by April so they can premiere by late summer. A few big names are attached to the shows, but “producers also want lesser known people tied into each city’s nightlife.”
Meanwhile, the Shade Room reports that rapper Mystikal and social media personalities 10thWardBuck, his girlfriend Trelly, TokyoxVanity and SupaCent have joined the New Orleans cast. There’s also speculation that rappers Cheeky Blakk and Sissy Nobby will be on the show.
“Love & Hip Hop” debuted on March 14, 2011, and chronicles the lives of several fame hungry women in New York who are involved with hip hop music/rappers. The show has produced seven successful spin-offs called “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” “Chrissy & Mr. Jones,” “The Gossip Game,” “This Is Hot 97,” “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood,” “K. Michelle: My Life,” & “Stevie J & Joseline: Go Hollywood.”
Currently, “Love & Hip Hop: New York” is getting ready to wrap its sixth season. “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” Season 2 concluded in December, and it’s reported that “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” will return for its fifth season this year with singer K. Michelle.
Keyshia Cole’s ex-husband and former NBA star Daniel Gibson has reportedly joined the cast of “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood.” He will be featured alongside new cast additions, songwriter Lyrica and Malika Kalysha, who claims to be pregnant by rapper Fetty Wap. Tierra Mari, Moniece Slaughter, Hazel E, Miss Nikki, Jason Lee, Lil Fizz, Soulja Boy, Nia Riley, Masika Kalysha, Ray J and Princess Love all return for season three. Apryl Jones and Omarion previously announced they would not return.
Mona Scott-Young, founder and CEO, Monami Entertainment, was recently named by the New York Business Journal as one of 79 honorees for its 2016 class of Women of Influence. The program recognizes women business leaders in the New York City area who innovate, succeed and “pay it forward.”
