Fresh of the success of indie dramedy “Southside With You,” comes plans for another youth-centered biopic on President Barack Obama.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that plans are in motion for “Barry,” a film that will chronicle Obama’s days as a student at Columbia University in New York City.
On board to star in “Barry” will be newcomer Devon Terrell, who will play Obama. Terrell landed the role after being discovered by “12 Years of Slave” director Steve McQueen.
According to the Reporter, Terrell’s history with McQueen goes back to when the filmmaker cast him in the lead role in his HBO pilot “Codes of Conduct” after conducting an exhaustive worldwide talent search.
