Elton John is never one to hold his tongue.

And he didn’t disappoint as Janet Jackson got caught in the crosshairs as John slammed the “Unbreakable” songstress and her live performances during an interview with Rolling Stone.

In his eyes, Jackson is guilty of lip-syncing, something he is passionately against when it comes to singers giving fans a great live show.

“You know, f–king music magazines writing a review of Janet Jackson saying, ‘This is the greatest show—four and a half stars.’ It’s f–king lip-synced! Hello! That’s not a show!” John says. “I’d rather go and see a drag queen. F–k off.”

Jackson is the latest entertainer to get on John’s bad side. The “Rocket Man” vocalist’s beef with Madonna has been well-documented as he went in on her for lip-syncing in 2004.

“Madonna, best live act? F–k off,” John said at the Q Awards. “Since when has lip-syncing been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-syncs on stage in public when you pay like 75 quid to see them should be shot. Thank you very much. That’s me off her Christmas card list, but do I give a toss? No.”

As it stands now, there has been no response from Jackson regarding John’s comments.

The question is will she fire back or will she remain silent? Does John even have a point with how he feels about lip-syncing artists or is he full of hot air?

Sounds like jealousy to me!! Why come for someone who has never said publicly an unkind word about you. So what she lip syncs! She is an entertainer!! Anyone who has been a fan knows her vocals are not that strong!! But we don’t CARE!! Sir Petty John!!!

  2. I am in half agreement with John. I see nothing wrong when a singer who is singing and dancing and giving a high energy show doing one or two songs in lip syncing to give their voice a break in between songs. These types of performers are doing more than just standing there singing or just playing an instrument.

  3. Please his vocals are mediocre and he’s no longer relevant. His new album went to #10 on billboard top 100 and quickly dropped to #68 while Janet’s stayed at #1 for more than 8 weeks. He’s nothing but a a Jealous Queen and it shows. All he does is say hateful things about other artists. Janet has too much pride and dignity to respond his bitter tirade. He’s just a wannabe fake Liberace and it’s time for him to retire.

  4. Who cares if singers lip sync? I pay my hard-earned $$$ to see a show, I already know how they sound under the best conditions. I’d be upset if their voice was not up to parr on the particular night I spent my $$$ and the entire concert was destroyed because of it. Elton needs to stuff it and get outta here with that purity parade!

Given the price of concert tickets, I would feel cheated if singers took the easy way out and just lip synched. Janet has to have some kind of vocal ability to sell the records she’s made. I definitely did not feel ripped off when I saw her in Columbia, SC during the Rhythm Nation tour in 1990.

  6. He has a very good point. If we wanted to hear lip syncing we could just listen to the radio. And the cost of her tickets, she better be damn singing.

I agree with Mr Sugar Puff 110% he’s right, these no talent studio singers cant hold a note for a live performance so they lip-synch a “world tour”… Janet Jackson has never been known for her vocal ability so its all the more comical when you hear folks pretend as if she actually has any
