Terry Crews has made a series of confession videos on Facebook this week regarding his longtime porn addiction.
The Brooklyn Nine Nine star revealed that he’s been addicted since the age of 12, and had to go to rehab to kick the habit. He said the addiction nearly cost him his wife, Rebecca King-Crews.
“For years, years, years, my dirty little secret was that I was addicted to pornography,” he stated in his first video, appropriately titled Dirty Little Secrets.
“It really, really messed up my life in a lot of ways,” Crews admitted. “I had the biggest sense of entitlement ever. I felt the world owed me something. I felt like my wife owed me sex.”
Crews, 47, said he would watch without anyone’s knowledge. Even his wife, whom he married in 1990, was unaware.
“If day turns into night and you are still watching, you probably got a problem,” Crews explained. “My wife was literally like, ‘I don’t know you anymore. I’m out of here.’ … I had to change because I realized, yo, this thing is a major, major problem. I literally had to go to rehab for it. I didn’t get help to get my wife back. I got help because I needed it.”
Crews said he’s sharing his secret on Facebook to help others suffering from what he calls a “worldwide problem.”
“I know there are a lot of people who are going through this,” he said in the third video. “I love you guys and I’m here. Give me more of your questions … we gonna talk about this because the more we talk about it, the more we can beat it.”
