Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos 24-10 at Super Bowl 50, breaking the hearts of several fans. While Newton couldn’t get past Peyton Manning‘s squad, his appearance in the big game was one for the books.

Newton, the NFL MVP of the year, was a favorite of both fans and analysts who felt it was his time to shine. He also is the first Black quarterback to win the MVP award. Just the third Black quarterback to play in the big game, Newton is the first among five other Black quarterbacks to also have won the coveted Heisman Trophy.

At 26-years-old, Newton is entering his physical prime and led the Panthers to a regular season where they just lost one game before the Broncos defeat Sunday night. Analysts praised Newton all season long for taking his team as far as he did and blasted his weak receiving corps. On the back of a bruising defense and Newton’s phyiscal gifts, they were able to nearly take home the championship.

The Panthers’ loss gives Manning just his second Super Bowl ring. It was the fifth such appearance for Manning in the Super Bowl and he is expected to retire at the end of what was an up and down season for the legendary gun slinger.

So the bad call early in the game had no influence on the outcome, but Cam, perhaps, maybe recovering a fumble late in the game would have saved the day? You should stick to trolling, troll.

  2. This article is inaccurate. Steve McNair was co- MVP with Peyton Manning one season. Cam Newton is the first solo MVP black quarterback. Also he’s the fourth black quarterback in the Super Bowl. Doug Williams, Steve McNair, and Donovan McNabb who played in Super Bowls

On any given day one team can beat another team in the NFL. I wanted the Panthers to win however they just got out played on this day

It only takes ONE horrific call like that in a game that became a defensive struggle….. genius.

      • Arthur, there was plenty of time left in the game for the Panthers to come back. Perhaps if Cam didn’t act like a little school girl and jumped on that fumble, there might have been a different outcome.
William said several, I simply asked for two more bad calls, you couldn’t come up with two yourself.

    • No, they did not out play the Panthers. Really? An eight year old saw what went on. Do you really think the NFL wanted Cam to go out with a bang with MVP and a win on the 50th Anniversay of the SB; and on the night of “Payton’s” retirement????? Really? Not in this History. Then Romanaski calling “THE MAN” a boy. We don’t do that, HATER’s
