Movie buffs have been supporting Black Film Festivals for years.

Two of the most  well known are the American Black Film Festival (originally called the Acapulco Black Film Festival) and the Pan African Film & Arts Festival.  Others include the San Diego Black Film Festival, the Charlotte Black Film Festival and joining the growing list is the Denton (Texas) Black Film Festival held January 29-31st at the historic Campus Theater downtown Denton.

For the second year in a row the Denton festival will present screenings of more than 28 full-length films, documentaries, shorts and student films.  Other highlights will include a Lifetime Achievement ceremony honoring legendary actress Irma P. Hall, a gospel brunch and Tommy Ford’s “I’ve Gotta Job…” Acting Workshop on Sunday January 31st.  For more info on the Denton Black Film Festival visit www.DentonBFF.com
