Hip Hop legend Rev. Run and Grammy nominated singer Tyrese are the hosts of It’s Not You, It’s Men, premiering Saturday, January 23rd on OWN.

“It’s the stuff that people are uncomfortable talking about. It’s enough ratchet television out here so we decided let’s go ahead and be grown with it. Rev Run is my best friend of the last eight years. We wrote a book together called Manolgy, NY Times Best Seller and people really had an appreciation of the two different perspectives.  He’s a very married man of 21 years and I’m a very single man.”

Biggest mistake women make on the first date:

RR: “Giving away too much of their information too soon. You have to let the man ride. If you get into a situation where you’re trying to prove something to him, you’re going to lose your mystique. I don’t believe that women should chase the man.”

TG: “It’s way too much information given out to people that you met. It’s a brand new man, a brand new situation. You don’t want another man running around with all your damn information.”

Is sex on the first date a bad idea?

RR: I don’t think you should have sex until you get married. I’m living this part of my life based on scripture. As I grew older and understood better, I made a change and I have different belief system.

TG: It’s not to me. There’s this kind of overreaching feeling that makes you a tramp or slut. When you’re really grown, you don’t necessarily put timelines on it. If I just wanted that, I’m going to be out. A timeline doesn’t matter.

Do men care about weave vs.  natural hair?

TG: I think a man and a woman would say, rather you sew it or  you grow it, as long as it looks good. Women should also be conscious when wearing makeup. Your face should not be a different color than you neck.”

Celebrity guests including Vin Diesel, Jordin Sparks, Marlon Wayans, Iyanla Vanzant and Amber Rose will also be featured on the show.
