Toni Braxton‘s biopic Unbreak My Heart premieres on Lifetime this Sunday and the Grammy award singer talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about what fans will learn, how her silence about her bankruptcy actually helped other artists and much more.
Why she didn’t like the song Unbreak My Heart at first:
“It’s not that I didn’t like it, I just wanted to change my image. I was only 25 and I wanted to do something my age.”
On being barred for talking about her bankruptcy for 10 years:
“Now I feel vindicated. It doesn’t even really matter. Even though it was in silence, I got to help other artists.”
How her sisters felt about the women portrayed as the sisters:
“They were actually okay. My families look like no one else. I know Tamar had a problem with her girl but at the end she was really proud of her.”
Can’t get enough of Toni? Immediately following the movie, Lifetime will air Beyond The Headlines: Toni Braxton, at 10p EST.
