Phaedra Parks of The Real Housewives of Atlanta recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live!, where Andy Cohen asked whether or not she was looking for someone to cozy up to at night and keep her bed warm, since she and her incarcerated husband,Apollo Nida, are calling it quits.
Parks made it clear that she’s not opening up her heart until the ink is dry on the divorce papers.
“Um, when I get divorced, but I’m still married,” she told Cohen, who then pressed her and asked if the divorce was moving forward, she explained that it was “in process.”
Nida pleaded guilty last May to charges in a fraud scheme that federal prosecutors say stole millions of dollars from at least 50 people over four years. He was sentenced to eight years in federal prison and must serve five years under parole supervision after his release. Last month, Apollo penned a letter hinting that he might be getting out early from prison.
This is the second prison stint for Nida, who previously served five years in a federal prison for auto title fraud before marrying Parks in 2009.
In a surprising twist of fate, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice will be starting his 41-month sentence in early 2016, and he’ll be entering the same prison where Nida is. Parks confirmed this to Andy.
“Phaedra, I read last week that Apollo is being transferred to the same facility that Joe Giudice will be reporting to in February,” Cohen asked.
“He’s there,” she confirmed of Nida, 37. “No, he hasn’t [previously met Giudice]. I’m sure they haven’t crossed paths, but I guess they will now.”
As Us Weekly reports, Juicy Joe’s sentence comes after his wife, Teresa Giudice, has served most of her 15-month sentence at a correctional institute in Connecticut. She is set to be released early, in time to spend Christmas with her family. The reality star couple received separate sentences for fraud so their four daughters could have constant care.
