In the second season of John Ridley’s anthology series American Crime, the “crime” is less about race (although it will raise its head), and more about socioeconomic disparity, which plays out in the setting of an elite private high school.

ABC announced today that it has made the first episode of Season 2 available for free on iTunes. (Click here to watch.)

Regina King won an Emmy for her role last season as the Muslim sister of a man accused of rape and murder. This season, she and new cast member Andre Benjamin (OutKast) play Michael and Terri LaCroix, the wealthy parents of a basketball player at the high school who, along a teammate, gets caught up in a scandal involving leaked photos on social media.

The boy in the photo, a white student receiving financial aid, claims the two athletes drugged and assaulted him, before posting the pictures of him online.

Ridley executive produces with Michael J. McDonald for ABC Studios.
