Four-time Grammy Award winner Erykah Badu is fresh off hosting the 2015 Soul Train Awards and the release of her new mixtape, But You Cain’t Use My Phone, is available exclusively on iTunes.
Andre 3000 makes a guest appearance on the song “Hello” and he and Erykah’s son Seven also contributes to the mixtape as a song writer.
On her “feud” with Iggy Azealea after her monologue at the Soul Train Awards:
“I haven’t heard from her personally but she tweeted me. She’s not going to call for real,” she said.
Why she decided to release a mixtape over an album:
“It’s a 35-minute piece, they’re all just kind of remixes. It was my way of communicating with this generation…a lot of them grew up listening to me through their parents.”
But You Cain’t Use My Phone debuted at number one on the iTunes R&B charts and number one on Apple Music Streaming. Click the link above to hear the entire interview.
