*If you were wondering why Omarion and Apryl Jones were not present for the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood reunion, we now know why. The couple have called it quits on the show that made her an urban household name and put the R&B crooner back in the spotlight.
Omarion and Jones, who are expecting their second child in March, (a girl), have confirmed that they will not be returning for season 3. They have opted to concentrate on their music career and growing family. Smart move, as they didn’t provide enough high-drama on the show to keep most viewers engaged.
Apyrl sat down for an interview with ESSENCE Live to officially make the announcement, and explain their reasons for exiting.
“We didn’t go to the reunion because Omari was on tour and I was with him with our child. But umm, we are NOT going to do next season.”
Jones also revealed that because of their strong bond and devotion to each other, they were never worried about the “reality TV curse.”
“We have a strong bond,” Apryl said. “We just knew coming to reality TV we just knew nothing was going to change that. We’ve never been worried about the ‘show curse’ because when we walked into Love And Hip Hop filming knowing what we were prepared for. They had a lot of respect for me and Omari so we weren’t really worried about that. We knew we would be ok walking in and walking out.”
