In the battle for best celebrity Halloween costume 2015 we have two significant contenders. First up, LeBron James as….Prince? We wouldn’t think a 6’9 man could credibly play the role, but we have to say James committed.
Here’s a video of him onstage at the Cavaliers’ Halloween party Saturday night. Looks like he didn’t scrimp on the details. We know this because teammate Kevin Love captured the moment(s) via his social media account.
King James did the damn thang. As you can see, he replicated Prince’s iconic Purple Rain outfit—complete with blouse, tight leather pants and of course, the purple jacket. On top of that, he went even further and stepped to mic and performed the song “Purple Rain.” No, he didn’t actually play the guitar and he doesn’t sound like Prince. But, he didn’t embarrass himself either. Not at all.

Next up we have Beyonce, Jay Z and baby Blue Ivy as characters from the classic movie Coming to America. Beyonce is dressed up as Queen Aoleon, Prince Akeem’s mother who was portrayed in the movie by Madge Sinclair and Jay-Z went for Prince Akeem, who was played, of course, by Eddie Murphy.
