Retired basketball player Craig “Speedy” Claxton is headed back to court with his estranged wife Meeka, on allegations that she violated a court order, and to reexamine the terms of their custody arrangement and alimony.
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports that the divorce between Speedy and “Basketball Wives” star Meeka Claxton has turned nasty, with the former NBA star heading to court demanding his ex be found in contempt, tho – it’s unclear what the NBA star believes she violated from the court records.
Meeka filed for divorce in 2014, after a 16 year relationship – married for 8 – and sharing two children. She announced the divorce in Pynk Magazine, in an article she penned for the publication entitled “My Next Chapter,” she explained:
After 16 years together, 8 years of marriage, living in 7 different cities, 2 beautiful daughters and a championship, unfortunately, Speedy and I have decided to separate.
But not because we didn’t try or because we didn’t want our family to work. If you know me even a little bit, then you know that my family means more to me than anything else.
The former reality TV star asked the court to order Speedy to pay her temporary support – child and alimony – while the divorce is pending and before a final order is entered in the case. Speedy later filed docs demanding he not have to pay her anything until the divorce is finalized.
Speedy returned to court earlier this year asking the judge to reconsider his decision on the order on temporary support and alimony, he also sought to lift a subpoena that Meeka slapped him with during the divorce. The evasive subpoena would have allowed his ex and her lawyers access to his bank accounts and financial records.
Speedy and Meeka’s battle over child support and alimony continues when they return to court November 30th.
