Several employees of Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas were fired after it was revealed that they attempted to photograph Lamar Odom as he fought for his life, reports TMZ.
Sources for the website say some of those workers tried to access his medical records, in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
A rep for Sunrise tells TMZ, “We take all patient privacy very seriously and follow all HIPAA policies in compliance with federal regulations.”
As previously reported, Odom was transported to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, where he’s under 24/7 security.
