Ashanti’s situation with a man accused of stalking her resulted in another face-to-face meeting in court on Thursday (Oct. 1).

According to Page Six, Devar Hurd acted as his own lawyer during the proceedings as he interrogated her on the stand recounted a sexually explicit tweet he sent the singer.

“I tweeted at you, ‘Eating p—y from the back tastes better on a flight to Russia,’” the 36-year-old, excitedly stated about the 2013 message he sent Ashanti, which violated a restraining order placed on him. “Do you know what I’m talking about?”

“Yeah, I saw the tweet, I saw a lot of these tweets as a result of this whole entire situation,” replied Ashanti, who questioned, Hurd’s motivation.

“Are all these tweets familiar because of the situation, and you repeatedly violating the law and having me come back here? Yes,” she testified.

Regarding Hurd’s pornographic tweets, Ashanti told jurors in Manhattan Supreme Court before Justice Roger Hayes that they made her feel, “disgusted, disrespected” and “scared” for her and her family’s safety.

“This is something that has been in my life for a while, and it is interrupting what I’m doing, and I feel like it’s coming from such a malicious, evil place,” Ashanti said. “I have a career and family, and it’s taking a toll on us.”

When prosecutor Rachel Ehrhardt asked if she ever had a romantic relationship with Hurd, Ashanti said, “Absolutely not, never ever.”

Reacting to the answer, Hurd smiled and smirked sarcastically, Page Six reports, adding that he grilled the entertainer later on whether they ever met. Although Ashanti insisted that the first time took place in court last year, Hurd saw things differently.

“Back in 2003, we didn’t meet in Chicago?” he creepily asked. “We didn’t meet at that event, you had on white pants, a bikini-type top?”

“I didn’t meet you,” Ashanti coolly answered.

The entertainer’s testimony is the latest development in the case against Hurd, who was convicted in 2009 of stalking and harassment and for sending crotch-shots to Ashanti’s mother. He is currently on trial for sending Ashanti hundreds of sexually explicit tweets as well as posing for a picture with the vocalist’s little sister in violation of a restraining order.

Ashanti didn’t note Hurd’s return until a fan identified Hurd in the picture, which he took in October 2012. From there, Ashanti scoured her Twitter account and realized that Hurd sent her hundreds of explicit tweets from a handle she didn’t initially recognize.

Although she testified last year, Page Six notes that a juror becoming sick during deliberations forced the judge to declare a mistrial in the case.

  1. Why must yhe victim be placed in duch a position as to have to answer questions from yhe sick pervert. You know thst creep was very happy indeed to put her through this……This type of justice has to be done away with and replaced with somthing that mskes logical sense. If not a swift bullet to his head should suffice.

Wow this dude’s got mental problems. Obviously, the conviction in 2009 didn’t matter to him, she has a serious nut on her hands. He needs to be locked away before he goes to far and someone gets hurt.
