They’re not going away.

Nearly two weeks before its Season 4 finale on October 4, VH1 has announced that “Basketball Wives; LA” has been renewed for Season 5.

The reality series is a consistent ratings powerhouse for the cable network. Executive produced by Shaquille O’Neal’s ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal, the show has propelled VH1 to the No. 1 spot on average in the Sunday 9 p.m. time period with women 18-34, according to the network.

In addition, the 9 p.m. premiere episodes have posted triple digit gains with the demo versus year ago levels (+157%).

Draya Michele, Malaysia Pargo, Brandi Maxiell, and Jackie Christie returned to the series for Season 4, and were joined by O’Neal and outspoken troublemaker Tami Roman. Also, Jackie brought in friend and basketball girlfriend, Mehgan James.

Additionally, the wife of player Eddy Curry and Malaysia’s friend, Patrice Curry, as well as Draya’s friend, fashion designer and ex- girlfriend of Tyreke Evens, Angel Brinks, also made appearances.

The fourth season finale airs Sunday, October 4 at 9 PM, followed by the Reunion Special on Sunday, October 11 at 9 PM on VH1.
