Terrence Howard’s wife Miranda (pictured) gave birth four weeks ago to a boy they named him Qirin Love, and now the “Empire” star is in full gush mode over the little one.

“He’s beautiful and strong and a whirlwind and my wife is so happy,” the 46-year-old actor told Access Hollywood while promoting his hit Fox series at the 2015 Monte Carlo TV Festival in Monaco.

He explained that his son’s name is derived from the mythic Chinese creature, the qilin, which is said to appear before a time of prosperity or serenity.

Terrence said he and his wife split duties when it comes to caring for the newborn.

“She has to be up with him all throughout the day. I wasn’t born with boobs, I’ve started growing some recently,” he said with a laugh. “She has the boobage and nurses him during the day. So, I pull night duty, so that she can sleep and I keep him with me and will take some of the pre-pumped, you know, breast cheese, whatever you call it.”

While this marks the first child for the couple, Howard is already dad to three children from a previous marriage.

On Sunday (June 14), Terrence and Taraji P. Henson attended an Empire photo session at the Monte Carlo TV Festival. Terrence told the TCA in January that he was initially reluctant to play Lucious Lyon because of the character’s controversial behavior, but it was his Empire and Hustle and Flow co-star that convinced him it was worth the challenge. He credits both the actress, as well as their executive producer Lee Daniels, for easing his to anxiety during certain scenes.
