Miguel can’t be placed into a box.
If you listen to the singer, songwriter and producer’s albums, you’ll find that the California native’s sound has a multitude of flavor which includes Hip-Hop, electronic, soul, funk, pop and rock.
Signing with the then Jive Records in 2007, Miguel’s career didn’t begin to flourish until well after he released his 2010 debut album All I Want is You. Actually, the album did poorly on the charts in its initial release, until the title track featuring an up and coming rapper named J.Cole became a viral hit.
In 2012, Miguel dropped his second album Kaleidoscope Dream to critical and commercial acclaim and yet again, he landed another viral hit with Adorn.
It seems like anything the Grammy award winner touches turns to gold. That’s why artists like Mariah Carey, Wale, J. Cole, Ludacris and Janelle Monae have featured his silky voice on what turn out to be certified hits!
