Devon Still Asks For Prayers After Daughter Faces Setback In Cancer Treatment

Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still has kept the public informed regarding his daughter Leah’s battle with cancer. While he was happy to announce the 5-year-old was in remission this spring, Leah has faced a setback in her treatment.

According to TODAY, Still says Leah has faced VOD or veno-occlusive disease, a complication that can occur during stem cell transplant surgery. Leah got the transplant in March and was declared cancer-free. VOD also effects the liver when the patient is given a high-dose of chemotherapy before a stem cell transplant.

Devon made the announcement on his Instagram page over the weekend as the one-year mark of Leah’s diagnosis draws near.

Leah was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma in June 2014. Still pushed for Leah with the movement #LeahStrong, encouraging everyone to be informed about pediatric cancer. In doing so, he was brought back to the Bengals after being cut earlier this year. The team also donated $1.3 million to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
