Got a boo thang? Well, if you do, the concert to take them to this summer is the Forever Charlie tour with Kem, Charlie Wilson and Joe Thomas.

“It’s been incredible,” says Kem, the Detroit-born crooner known for his sensuous jazzy love songs. “We’re making a statement for R&B music. We’re playing in arenas and for artists of our caliber we’re making a statement that Black music is a very serious, serious thing.”

Kem says that he and Wilson have long talked about touring together and finally their schedules aligned and they were able to get together.

“It was perfect timing and it was the #1 tour in Billboard during the winter,” Kem says. Its got to be a great show if Joe and Kem are opening. The two put a little pressure on Wilson but the veteran’s showmanship makes it hard to win that battle.

“When you leave the show, you are full,” Kem says. “Joe is a balladeer, I’m an R&B staple and we do what we do and then Charlie comes and closes it out. From the beginning to end, you are entertained and everybody’s singing…and Charlie is singing AND dancing.”

Kem says he’d love to steal some of Charlie’s light-up jackets, if not his moves.

“I’m a get me one of those jackets,” he laughs. “We have a lot of fun, a lot of respect for each other and a lot of love on the road and I’m really grateful to be a part of it.”

Listen above to hear Kem talk about whose wardrobe is best on the road.
