Deadline.com is reporting that FX has put into development “Brightmore Elementary,” an animated comedy executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs and set in an inner city high school.
It’s being described as “South Park” set in Detroit. It follows the African American students at Brightmore Elementary. Combs, Underground’s Trevor Engelson, and “Five All In The Fifth’s” Doug Banker executive produce.
The project is written by “King of the Hill” alum Chip Hall and rising Detroit comedian Chris Powell aka Comedian CP.
FX has been looking to find a second hit animated series to join “Archer.” Its previous efforts have included “Unsupervised” and “Chozen.”
