TLC Raises $172K In 72 Hours, Becoming Most Successful Kickstarter Pop Project
TLC sent up the Bat signal and fans, including pop star Katy Perry, answered.
Tionne ‘T-Boz‘ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli‘ Thomas surpassed their $150,000 goal on Kickstarter to raise money for the production of their fifth and final album. At this time, the pair raised $172,319 via donations from more than 1,542 people in 72 hours.
At this rate, TLC is on course to more than exceed $200,000 as it has 28 more days to raise funds for the album.
The Kickstarter achievement was welcomed by a very happy T-Boz and Chilli, who broke the good news via Twitter on Thursday.
Pop singer Katy Perry pledged $5,000 to the project earning Thank yous from both ladies….
We’re just kind of sorry that the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes wasn’t a part of this triumphant moment for the group, especially because we can just imagine what her social media game would have been like.
