His group, The Geto Boys with Bushwick Bill and Willie D,  inspired artists like 2Pac, Rick Ross, Eminem and many more. Scarface says that growing up on Houston’s Southside was not much different than anywhere else.

“It was a lower income community but we had fun. We made do with what we had,” Scarface says. He says he may have been asleep on his grandmother’s couch when The Geto Boyz hit first made the radio. But his grandmother was unconvinced.

“Get out of here with that nonsense,” he says his grandmother said when he told her it was him on the radio. As far as what he did with the money he earned with The Geto Boys, Scarface says “You know what we did with the money. We invested (laughs). Can you imagine being 19 with that kind of money?”

As far as The Geto Boys are concerned, a reunion tour probably won’t happen. Scarface says Bushwick Bill is the problem. “He might show up for a show, he might not,” Scarface says.

Willie D is working on some projects around town, according to Scarface, though he’s not sure exactly what he’s up to. What he does know, though is that Willie D has hands.

“Willie D can fight,” Scarface says. “I saw him knock Melle Mell out,” he says. “I’m not even lying, though.”
