Actor Cuba Gooding Jr’s last name is kind of  being impugned by his daddy, singer Cuba Gooding Sr.

It seems ’70s soul man Gooding Sr. (“Everybody Plays the Fool”) bailed on a Christmas charity concert for a children’s hospital, while making off with a bunch of cash, according to a lawsuit.

TMZ reports that a man named Reginald Lewis says he’s been trying to track down Gooding Sr. ever since he cancelled a benefit gig for the Kennedy Krieger Institute last December (2013) in Baltimore. Lewis claims he loaned Gooding $7,000 to promote the event … and never got the money back.

Lewis is suing for the money, but the problem is he says he can’t locate Gooding Sr. to serve him with papers.

TMZ reached out to one of Gooding Sr.’s reps but got the same result … crickets.
