Never one to let an insult go without a social media response, Rihanna has taken CBS to task for canceling her Thursday Night Football appearance in the wake of the Ray Rice scandal.

In what was a boneheaded decision in the midst of several boneheaded decisions around the Ray Rice matter, CBS decided to bump Rihanna’s performance of “Run This Town” with Don Cheadle from the broadcast, citing the need to change the “tone” of the show.

So, punishing a domestic violence victim because of an NFL player’s admitted abuse was the right tone?

Rihanna apparently didn’t think so. Although she was initially quiet after the cancellation, hearing the very same song she was supposed to perform on another CBS football broadcast didn’t sit well with the pop star.

Is Rihanna right? Should CBS have pulled the singer because she’s been a victim of  domestic violence or was that another in a series of stupid moves?

SHE WAS UPSET BECAUSE CBS DIDN’T PLAY IT ON SUNDAY, BUT NOW THEY WANT TO PLAY IT ON THURSDAY, WHATS THE DIFFERENT, IF YOU COULDN’T PLAY IT ON SUNDAY THEN ITS BAD TO PLAY SONG ONLY 4 DAYS LATER!! IF YOU ARE GONNA BANNED A SONG DON’T TURN AROUND & PLAY IT 3 DAYS LATER I WOULD BE UPSET TO HYPORCRITES, WHATS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER, CBS NEEDS MORE PEOPLE TO WATCH THEIR STATION THEY HAVE LOW LOW RATINGS, THATS WHY THEY WANTED SOMEONE TO HELP GET THEIR RATINGS UP ENOUGH SAID, YOU MISSED THE POINT!! WOW!!

  2. My question is did the league ask Rihanna if she would feel comfortable performing, or did they just out, and out cancel her performance? I think they should have at least asked her what she thought. This whole abuse situation has been mismanaged by the league

  3. Note:
You brothers and sisters still don’t get it! This is USA of W–te America!!! regardless. They dictate and will always continue too. We cry and complain but the truth is there. No matter what the issues are or the circumstance.

  4. Yes she should be banned. She supports abusers! She went back to Chris after he physically abused her. CBS does not want to be hit with someone accusing them of saying it’s okay because RiRi clearly thinks it’s cool.

  5. Tell ’em “eat SHlT” Rhianna! This is a private matter and neither you nor Ray Rice should have been removed. Is McDonald’s going to fire a crew member who knocks out his girlfriend away from the workplace? Me thinks not! This was no business of the NFL- unless there is a “character clause” in Rice’s contract, but then that would be with the team- not the league. I think he should sue.

Yes, she is right. One thing had nothing to do with the other. She was a victim and Ray Rice was the accuser, so why she had to pay for what he did? She is correct in everything she said.
