Morgan State University is saying goodbye to a young man described as “very friendly and likeable off the field but on the field, a fierce competitor.”
Marquese Meadow, a 18-year-old defensive lineman from Washington, D.C. fell ill during one of the team’s workout sessions and subsequently died soon after at John Hopkins hospital. The specifics of Meadow’s death have not been released but the University is asking for cooperation and privacy during this time of loss.
Meadow’s teammates and friends have created the hashtag #MSUMarquese90 to be used on social media when celebrating his life.
