Fox is giving fans their longest look yet at Gotham, the network’s anticipated Batman prequel focusing mainly on Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), the cop who looks out for a young Bruce Wayne after his parents are murdered.

Jada Pinkett Smith stars as Fish Mooney, one of the few characters not in the original DC Comics. Mooney is a ruthless, calculating, charmer of a crime boss who does her dirt from a nightclub she owns in the city.

Gordon’s investigation of the Wayne murders forces him to deal with Mooney and her underworld, as well as Batman villains-to-be, such as Selina “Catwoman” Kyle, Edward “The Riddler” Nygma and Oswald “The Penguin” Cobblepot. There is also friction from Gordon’s own partner Harvey Bullock (Donald Logue).
