This may seem like a no brainer when it comes to giving advice, but there are hundreds if not thousands of people who do not use lip balm regularly.  Using a lip balm that contains aloe, vitamin E, sun protection, cocoa butter or shea butter are great ways to keep the skin of the lips moisturized and soft. There are several brands available over the counter at any local drug store that are inexpensive, and others that are a little more pricey but they often contain higher concentrations of oils that are better for the skin.

4. Drink more water

Dry lips are a sign of dehydration, so drinking at least a half-gallon of water daily will keep your lips from drying out and will also keep the body in balance.

5. Exercise those muscles

It may sound weird to have exercises for the lips, but they contain muscles that are responsible for helping with rounding out sounds and letters during speech.  In working out these muscles, a person can learn how to improve their speech as well as develop firm lips that are still soft to the touch. Be ready to deliver  a moving public statement or land a perfect first kiss!  One exercise that is simple to use on a daily basis is the “kissie face” duck lips that every woman uses in those selfie moments to appear more alluring. By rolling the insides of the lips outward and much as possible and bringing the lips together to open and close them, the lip muscles get a great workout.  Try this exercise in front of a mirror during moments alone to avoid looking like a weird fish out of water in public.
