MTV is getting ready to revive a fan favorite from the past next week: “Total Request Live”!
Anyone that grew up in the late 90s/early 2000s likely has fond memories of rushing home to watch “TRL” to see if their favorite video made it to #1. Some of us even attempted to learn the choreography from the favorite performers!
Six years after its final episode aired, the Associated Press reports that “TRL” is about to make brief return to TV.
The network announced today that it will put the music back into its moniker on July 2, when it airs a special presentation of “TRL” at 7 p.m.. Sway Calloway is set to host the whole thing! The 30-minute show, titled “Total Ariana Live,” will feature diva-in-the-making Ariane Grande as she debuts her next single.
Ariana, who currently has the #2 single in the nation with her saxobeat infused “Problem,” perform during the show and answer a few questions. She’ll be chatting about her upcoming sophomore!
“TRL” may not be coming back exactly like we remember it, but we’ll definitely be tuning in next week!
