Two officers from London’s Essex County have been disciplined for blasting KRS-ONE’s “Sound Of Da’ Police” record while driving their patrol car through the town center, the Essex Chronicle reports.

Superiors gave the officers “words of advice,” after video of them loudly playing the hip-hop classic appeared on YouTube and Facebook. The incident reportedly happened during Easter weekend.

“Two officers have been given management actions, which included words of advice, from a senior officer after acknowledging they inappropriately used their patrol car’s PA system,” an Essex police spokesperson said.

Though the department didn’t take kindly to their actions, an online poll by the Chronicle found that of 500 responses, 462 people believed the officers shouldn’t have been disciplined.

“Sound Of Da Police” also featured heavily in “La Haine,” a 1995 film about Parsian youths fighting against cops.
