This year’s official Grammy gifting suite presented by MTG and Distinctive Assets was as good as Grammys gold. That’s the secret ingredient to one of the top products offered to this year’s official Talent Gift Lounge perusers like LL Cool J, George Clinton, Lorde, Regina King, Metallica and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The VIPs walked the small tent at the Staples Center in Los Angeles which was packed with the hottest, newest, not-for-retail-sale items that were offered by both domestic and international manufacturers.
The MTG Talent Suite, which was open all weekend to nominees and VIPs of this year’s awards show featured the full opulent experience: red carpet entry, white tent, exclusive guest list and the customer service fit for a King…or a Queen Latifah. Upon entering the suite, celebs were greeted by friendly staff who would serve as escorts throughout their walk. They were announced at each stop, with eager representatives ready to explain their latest in fashion, technology, health and innovation. A common theme for the best gifting suites is however, are the products and services with a purpose, like that of Revamp & Revive, a custom furniture and product recycling company, making masterpieces out of items that have worn their welcome in their previous state. The owner, Kansas City, MO native Rachel Ropp, has her own instant success story, going from a whim to recycle ordinary household items like doorknobs and license plates to making custom signs on-site for George Clinton that reads his favorite word – funk.
Celebrities, especially musicians, lead the latest fashion blogs and the lists of what’s hot because they’re usually sporting the ‘next big thing’ before we can find it at the mall. Now here’s your chance to know what’s coming to stores before there’s even border clearance or trade agreements. The Fabian elite line of cell phone accessories is on tap from Japan, but not available for sale in the U.S. The Fabian case is designed to match your phone’s application that mirrors the case, which holds a huge Swarovski crystal on the front. One of the hottest items at the official gifting suite was a product called Gramovox, which is a unique audio system with the design and look of and old school Magnavox horn. Only available by pre-order now, the Gramovox operates by bluetooth and it is the world’s first of its kind. Even current music gives the vintage sound of the Magnavox horn. The acoustics are dynamic and the sleek look of the player brings a rich and historic presence to any room. This impressive doo-hicky retails for $299 through pre-order.
No perfect gifting suite is complete without the fashion essentials; shoes to strut down the carpet and sunglasses to avoid the paparazzi. Max Martin shoes featured the most delicious shoe designs, with heels ranging from “I’m totally hot without even trying” to “Bow Down B___es!”. The shoes were introduced by Max Martin CEO William Panzarella. They offered a colorful array of designs that you will never forget, crafted by African-American Creative Director, Tanita Gray. The show stoppers were showcased like fine art in a shoe fetish gallery. Panzarella not only presented the designer footwear, but he proudly discussed the companies’ non-profit arm, the Aegis Foundation, a charitable organization raising funds for youth education and community programs. The Foundation will feature the 2014 High Heels Dash in August, the Oscar Experience and the Free Homeless Youth Thanksgiving Dinner.
