NBA player Royce White, known for missing his rookie season with the Houston Rockets due to his fear of flying, is on the defense of a criminal investigation in Texas after allegedly beating up his ex-girlfriend, reports TMZ.
Maxim model Tania Mehra filed a police report on August 30 about an incident that occurred at the basketball player’s Houston-area home back in June.
According to law enforcement, a 911 call was placed on June 22. Cops say at the time, Mehra claimed she suffered a laceration over her eye from an “accidental fall.”
In an interesting twist, Mehra filed another incident report last week, saying she fabricated the original story and that White actually caused her injury.
Cops tell TMZ, “The victim said she had lied earlier because the suspect played for the NBA and did not want the incident to damage his career.”
So far, no charges have been filed against the 22-year-old NBA player.
Calls to White’s representative have not been returned.
