Lil' Mo & Kelly Price Turn Up The Diva! 'R&B Divas' [RECAP]

Time is ticking and the divas were running out of time to get their monologues together. Since Kelly and Dawn had dropped out of the production altogether, the remaining contenders needed to figure out how the show would go on without them. Claudette’s Painful Confession

Claudette Ortiz has been noticeably absent the past few episodes and now we finally know why. Her daughter suffered a severe accident which left her with major burns to her face. Claudette explained the whole incident to her manager, Ashley, as the worst moment of her life as she had to sit there and watch her daughter scream and cry while the doctors scrapped burned skin from her baby girl’s body! Claudette’s first priority were her children and for that reason, she stayed by her daughter’s side until she was better. Now that her daughter was doing a bit better, Claudette was ready to return to work but were the girls ready for her?

When Claudette returned to rehearsal, Mo and Chante brought her up to speed on everything that she missed including Dawn and Kelly’s absence. Claudette was definitely shocked to find out that all of this drama had occurred in her absence but she vowed that she would not quit due to Kelly and Dawn’s absence.

Lil Mo vs. Dawn

Mo was fed up with all of the drama surrounding the monologues and was especially fed up with Dawn after she told her she wasn’t going to participate anymore for fear of being disrespectful to Kelly. As we know from last week’s episode, that didn’t sit well with Mo at all and once she told the rest of the girls they were just as shocked as she was. Chante didn’t believe that Kelly was seriously finished with the monologues since she’s claimed she quit many times before. Regardless of who was going to be apart of the production or not, the show had to go so the remaining four continued to press on without Dawn and Kelly.

Last night was the first time that Lil Mo and Kelly finally sat down to get a sense of “what the feel in the room was.” The conversation started off on the wrong foot after Mo asked Kelly why she wasn’t speaking to her. Kelly immediately got up and called for her husband Jerome to come into the meeting and address why Kelly wasn’t returning her phone calls and was too busy to talk. At that moment, Mo called for her husband to come into the meeting as well so they could make it a “family affair.” The girls went back and forth for a bit before Mo was completely fed up with Kelly. At the end of their discussion, Mo decided that she would have nothing to do with Kelly Price from that point forward.

Later in the episode, Kelly and Dawn met up to discuss the whole situation, again. They decided they they would do “Not Your Momma’s Monologue” as a duo without the other four ladies and do it the way that Kelly originally envisioned. Kelly was happy that Dawn was on her team and decided not to be a back stabber like the other girls. Not there were two versions of “Not Your Momma’s Monologue” happening and it was only a matter of time before Chante and the rest of the girls found out the news. Drama.
