Eddie Griffin is being sued by a woman who claims she and her partner were the target of a homophobic rant by the comic during a show in California.
According to TMZ, Leslie Champlin has filed legal papers against Griffin and Tommy T’s Comedy Club in Pleasanton, alleging she and her partner Fiona Walshe were publicly humiliated during his show there in July 2012.
Champlin claims Griffin aimed an allegedly homophobic rant at the couple and thrust his crotch in their faces, reports TMZ. Walshe threw her drink at the comedian in protest, prompting Griffin to pour water on her.
The lawsuit state the couple was thrown out of the club and Champlin is now suing for alleged civil rights violations, claiming she was discriminated against based on her sexual orientation.
Champlin also claims she was the victim of battery and negligence, and is demanding unspecified damages.
