Eddie Griffin is being sued by a woman  who claims she and her partner were the target of a homophobic rant by the comic during a show in California.

According to TMZ, Leslie Champlin has filed legal papers against Griffin and Tommy T’s Comedy Club in Pleasanton, alleging she and her partner Fiona Walshe were publicly humiliated during his show there in July 2012.

Champlin claims Griffin aimed an allegedly homophobic rant at the couple and thrust his crotch in their faces, reports TMZ. Walshe threw her drink at the comedian in protest, prompting Griffin to pour water on her.

The lawsuit state the couple was thrown out of the club and Champlin is now suing for alleged civil rights violations, claiming she was discriminated against based on her sexual orientation.

Champlin also claims she was the victim of battery and negligence, and is demanding unspecified damages.

She should not have taken it so personal. They crack on everybody, and this is what happens when you sit in the first few rows with comedians such as Eddie Griffin, DeRay Davis, Corey Holcomb, etc. You can’t cry foul if you sit in those seats. Yeah, you paid to get a good seat, but you also paid to be a potential target. Don’t walk in late, and don’t get up to use the bathroom during their set, if you do, just be prepared to be part of their act. But always remember….It’s just com…e…dy!

  2. That’s what you get for expecting to be entertained by a vulgar, unfunny buffoon like Eddie
Griffin. Besides, you assaulted him first, when you threw your drink on him. Maybe next time you won’t be so eager to be seated so close that he tries to sneak in a blow job. Idiot.
