Wait…WHAT the WHAT?
According to Dead Spin, last Sunday an amateur soccer match in Brazil came to a horrific end when a referee was murdered by outraged fans.
20-year-old Otávio Jordão da Silva was killed and beheaded in retaliation for stabbing a player during the match. After being killed his head was then cut off, put on a spike and placed in the middle of the soccer field!
Silva initially stabbed a player, 30-year-old Josenir dos Santos Abreu, to death because he was complaining about a call that he made! Yes you read this all correctly! The player went over to the ref to argue a call that the ref made and got upset at the ref and swung on him! The referee grabbed his knife and stabbed the player who later died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital! And then…the crowd turned on the ref!
The player’s friends and family got down on the field and got da Silva. They allegedly tied him up, beat him, stoned him, lynched him, and then quartered him. When they were done with the disgusting brutality they then cut off his head and placed it on a stake in the center of the field!
At this point only 27-year-old Luis Moraes Souza has been arrested for the crime. Authorities are still searching for two more people who are alleged to have been involved.
Valter Costa, the chief of police in Maranhão’s town of Santa Ines, said:
“Reports of witnesses have indicated some people that were in place at the time of the fact. We will identify and hold accountable all those involved. A crime will never justify another. Actions like this do not collaborate with the legality of a state law.”
Dead Spin has posted a link to the video that shows the horrible events but they warn that it is truly gruesome! If you think you shouldn’t look at it then you probably should not! But here is a link if you insist!
