Every now and then, I am introduced by my co-workers, to a rising artist who captivates my attention. Alice Russell is one of those people. As I hum the melody to her song, I am cradled by her warm vocals. Russell visited Studio 850, guitarist in tow, to serenade #TeamBeautiful with her live rendition of “To Dust.”
Alice Russell‘s rich voice stems from her deep gospel roots. She was introduced to the genre at a young age and it’s helped mold her into soulful artist among the likes of Amy Winehouse. The Suffolk, England native was born to a musical family and released her first album “My Favourite Letters” in 2005.
At 5’1, Russell easily disappears among a crowd, but with one syllable that can change. Russell released her latest album “To Dust” in February 2013 and has her sights on mainstream success as she continues to garner a fan base in the states.
