Parents-to-be Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are taking a nontraditional route in preparation for their new bundle of joy.
According to reports, the lovebirds are skipping a baby registry and directing family, friends and fans to give to one of their favorite charities, Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
Instead of showering lil’ Kimye with gifts, the couple is requesting the well-wishers to write a check to the hospital in Kanye’s hometown. The funds will go to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund, which cares for the hospital’s most critically-ill babies.
Since the announcement, the medical center has received a lot of media attention and released a statement on Tuesday expressing “its sincerest gratitude to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West for their thoughtfulness and support of the hospital.”
There’s no report yet of when the hospital will start collecting donations, however the reality star is due to give birth in July.
