They say when you ask God for help, he will bring you what you need and for actress Viola Davis he did just that.
The 47-year-old actress explained in an interview with the New York Post how her husband Julius Tennon entered her life just weeks after praying for a “big black man” from God.
Davis explained that during a very lonely time in her life, a friend recommended that she prayed for a husband.
Taking the advice, Davis got very specific in her prayer, “I said I wanted a big black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before… three and a half weeks later, I met my husband.”
The couple met on the set of the TV show City of Angels where they were both working and have been together ever since.
Are you wondering how accurately God filled her wants? Tennon is a former football player, he has two sons from previous relationships, he’s from the south, and as you can see in the photo above he fit the physical description.
The happy couple will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary on June 23.
