Two of three Saginaw triplet brothers are likely headed to prison after they were convicted of several felony charges, Michigan Live reports. Deshawn Shivers and Juronn Shivers, both 21, were convicted of unarmed robbery and conspiring to commit that crime on Monday in a Saginaw, Mich court.

Deshawn and Juronn were originally charged with armed robbery, conspiring to commit that crime, and two counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. The charges stemmed from an incident where the two were arrested and accused of robbing a man by the name of Johnnie C. Whittington at gunpoint.

Here is more from Michigan Live:

Whittington testified during Juronn Shivers’ November 2010 preliminary hearing that as he walked from Kroger back to The Crossings apartment complex, where he was visiting his mother, he noticed the Shivers brothers running at him.

Juronn Shivers, whom Whittington identified as his stepdaughter’s boyfriend, had been with Whittington earlier in the day when Whittington cashed a disability check, Whittington testified.

After catching up to Whittington, the Shivers brothers robbed him. Juronn Shivers possessed the gun, Whittington said.

The jury chose to convict the brothers of the lesser unarmed robbery charges, deciding that prosecutors didn’t show beyond a reasonable doubt that either of the brothers possessed a gun.

While they avoided the armed robbery charge, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison, the brothers still face possible prison time for the unarmed robbery and conspiracy charges, which carry 15-year maximum penalties. After the verdict was handed down, Kaczmarek revoked both of the brothers’ bond and remanded them to jail, an indication that he at least intends to hand down a jail sentence.

If the brothers are sentenced to prison, they will join their brother, Devon Shivers. He is imprisoned at the Saginaw Correctional Facility for assault with intent to murder and five other felonies. The brothers will be 22-years-old on Jan. 10, according to The Smoking Gun.
