John Edwards didn’t hesitate to jump back into the young dating pool shortly after his wife’s death.
Media sources claim that the former presidential candidate tried to pick up 25-year-old Andrea Love at a North Carolina bar last spring.
Edwards’ wife Elizabeth died in December 2010 after a long battle with cancer.
Edwards has a history of dating women who are decades his junior. During his wife’s illness and death, it was reported that he was still seeing his mistress Rielle Hunter, who is also the mother of his love child.
Witnesses said Edwards tried to win Love over by describing his desire to return to practicing law in order to help the poor.
“There were plenty of college kids, men and women asking him questions,” Love said.
Love admitted to giving Edwards her number and said he never called her.
Love’s mother was not pleased with Edwards’ interest in her daughter.
“She’s many decades his junior. It was inappropriate,’’ Love’s mom said.
Edwards is currently on trial for campaign finance fraud.
