Beyonce isn’t the only celebrity who has faced some heat for lip-syncing.  You might be surprised at who else is on the list.

1. Beyonce Knowles-Carter

The most recent lip-syncing performance and the inspiration for this gallery goes to Beyonce for her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at President Obama’s inauguration. (AP)

2. Milli Vanilli

Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli have to be the most infamous having won a Grammy and a few American Music Awards during their heyday. During a live (supposedly) performance on MTV in 1989 the song they were singing skipped. Oops! Busted!(AP)

3. Ashlee Simpson

Blame it on the acid reflux…is exactly the excuse Ashlee Simpson used after being caught in the act during a performance on SNL. She went from singing to doing the hokey-pokey. (PR)

4. 50 Cent

50 Cent was all set to pretend to sing “Amusement Park” at the BET awards in 2007, but a screw-up caused the instrumental version to play instead. He strolled around on stage until the music ended and said ‘Vitamin water, ladies & gentlemen because if you’ve already embarrassed yourself, you might as well get some publicity for your sponsors, too. 5. Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson received a lot of flack for lip-syncing at the 2009 Super Bowl, even though it was the first time she’d performed in public following the murders of three of her family members. Apparently it wasn’t even up to her as the show’s producer required her to record a backup track, rather than risk live snafus. (PR)

6. Britney Spears

During Britney Spears’ “Comeback” attempt in 2007, her CD skipped repeatedly during her ‘Do Something’ song at her House of Blues show. (PR)

7. Chris Brown

Chris Brown was lambasted on Twitter for lip-syncing his performance of ‘Turn Up The Music’ at the Billboard Awards Show. In his defense, his high-energy dancing would certainly be impossible to do while singing. (PR)

8. Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston lip synced the National Anthem and nobody really cares because People still call it one of the greatest national anthems of all time. (PR)

9. Eminem

Rapper Eminem was caught lip synching while performing at his 2013 “SNL” performance. He was “rapping” his song Berzerk.

10. The Spice Girls

The Spice Girls performance at the 2007 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was fabulous, however, none of their voices had changed (at all) in the almost ten years since performing together. Really? I rest my case. (PR)

11. Lin Miaoke & Yang Peiyi

The little girl (Lin Miaoke) who sang at the 2008 Olympic opening ceremony in Beijing wowed everyone with her beautiful voice and adorable face…except the voice belonged to another (less attractive) child, Yang Peiyi. The musical designer was unapologetic.

12. Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj was lip syncing during her performance on the “Today” show in 2013. Even though she was lip synching her mic was still and growling sounds could be heard.
