Rapper Meek Mill

The rumors of rapper Meek Mill allgedly being released from prison on April 16 are flowing and some people think it’s true while others aren’t buying it.

Complex reports that the rumors are not true but instead a status conference hearing with Judge Genece Brinkley. According to Mill’s lawyer Joe Tacopina, he says, “As far as I know there is no truth to those reports,” via an email to the Philly Voice.

In November of 2017, the rapper was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison after he violated his probation of 10 years on charges for guns and drugs. Since then fans and celebrities have been rallying for Mill for demanding justice.

However, rapper T.I. thinks otherwise. On Instagram, he reposted an image saying Meek Mill was going to be released on April 16. His caption read, “And I mean HURRRRRUP!!! #FreeMeek.”

In an interview from prison with NBC’s Lester Holt, Mill expressed that he felt that he might end up in prison sometime after being put on probation.

“It was always a thought in the back of my mind that 10 years of probation would bring me back to prison,” explained Mill. “No, I wouldn’t have believed that I would be on probation this long. I talk about they gave me 10 years of probation and I know, almost for sure in my mind, this will bring me back to prison.”
